Invested in Safer Communities: TRIB LIVE Joins Fight Against Human Trafficking, Sponsors Fundraiser

TRIB LIVE shares a dedication to improving local communities with Rotary of Westmoreland, and backs up that stance as the presenting sponsorship of ROW’s upcoming Battle of the Beers Oktoberfest charity fundraiser, as the former sponsor holds poached beer festival this weekend.

You know them as the area’s trusted source of news, information and advertising in Allegheny, Westmoreland, Armstrong and Butler counties; however Trib Total Media, specifically TRIB LIVE, also are known as socially responsible partners in its local communities.

Recently, TRIB LIVE spoke with representatives of Rotary of Westmoreland (ROW) to discuss the club’s Battle of the Beers Oktoberfest charity fundraiser and it’s beneficiary Rooted OUTreach, an Irwin-based non-profit dedicated to combatting human trafficking, sexual assault/abuse and homelessness.

Impressed with ROW’s vision and shared commitment to the betterment of its local communities, TRIB LIVE showed its support by backing the event as its “presenting sponsor.”

“We are proud to support the Rotary of Westmoreland and Rooted Outreach with our sponsorship of Battle of the Beers,” said Lindsay Bock, director of marketing at Trib Total Media. “Through this event, we hope to help raise awareness and funds to support victims of sex abuse and human trafficking.”

“The Trib, like our [Rotary] club, is about doing, not just talking,” said Kim Tuscan, Oktoberfest co-chairperson. “We were approached by other potential presenting sponsors, but we got the impression they were more interested in promoting themselves and recent opening than upholding the best interests of the fundraiser, beneficiary, community and values of Rotary.”

Despite the disappointing set back early on, the fundraiser is shaping up to be one of the largest events ROW has planned to date and showing promise it will meet its lofty $10,000 donation goal.

Other supporting sponsors like Lionshare Creative Agency, Hempfield Township Park, Marino’s American Eatery, Somerset Trust, Aiello Dental Associates, Dr. Mary Berge and Associates, BOB-FM, Somerset Trust, WISH-FM and Levin Furniture.

ROW’s Battle of the Beers Oktoberfest tickets, which are on-sale now, are $50, and the proceeds will be donated to Rooted OUTreach. Attendees will enjoy local craft beer samples, live music, Oktoberfest-inspired cuisine, presentations on human trafficking signs, reporting and prevention as well as an optional cornhole tournament, of which the additional proceeds also will be donated to Rooted Outreach.
